Almost all the information about Sony’s upcoming Xperia Play handset has been leaked. In fact, Engadget posted a complete preview of the handset last month even though Sony hadn’t announced the existence of the Xperia Play. And, now when our interest in Xperia Play is dying, Sony has finally decided to make it official.

Sony sent out invitations to media houses for Xperia Play event at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 13 at 6 PM GMT. The invite shows the Xperia Play handset and says:

Android is ready to play. Join the Event.

Sony also showed the gruesome Xperia Play commercial at Super Bowl (man those thumbs). Check out the video below.
