Panasonic announced yesterday that the company would ship three 3D Blu-ray player/recorders including models DMR-BWT3000 with 2TB hard drive, DMR-BWT2000 with 1TB hard drive and DMR-BWT1000 with 750GB hard drive. All the models come with two digital TV tuners, one analog TV tuner, iLink, SD card slot, Ethernet, USB, VIERA Link and HDMI. Along with the three player/recorder, Panasonic also launched DMP-BDT900K – a 3D Blu-ray player that has same features as the above three models except it doesn’t have a hard drive or recording capabilities. Panasonic will ship the new 3D Blu-ray Players in April. Following Panasonic announcement, Sony today announced its 3D Blu-ray player BDP-S470 that will ship later this month for $200. The player will come with BD-Live support, BRAVIA Internet Video, USB and Ethernet. Though the new player will be 3D playback capable it won’t have out of the box 3D support. Sony says that they will bring 3D functionality to the player with a firmware upgrade in summer this year, when 3D capable TV would start shipping.
