Asus will be soon adding an overclocked ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics card to its Republic of Gamers (ROG) lineup. Details and photo of the upcoming card were leaked on Chinese website. Asus will increase the clock speed of the GPU from 850MHz to 900MHz, double the memory to 2GB GDDR5 and raise the memory bandwidth to 4.9Gbps. The Asus card will come with a utility that will further allow users to overclock the card by increasing the GPU clock speed to 1080MHz and memory bandwidth to 5.2Gbps. The card will have a Safe Mode button on the back-plate that will revert the settings to stable configuration, if overclocking results in crashes. Asus ROG Radeon HD 5870 will have DVI, DisplayPort and HDMI outputs. Asus will ship the card later this month and no information about price is yet available.
