Adobe Says Improved Flash Support for Mac ComingSubmitted by lalit on February 17, 2010 - 2:35pm.
It is a known fact that Flash is the number one reason for browser crashes on Macs. In an interview with Kara Swisher (video above), Adobe’s CTO Kevin Lynch said that the company is working hard to improve Flash support on Mac. He added Adobe is hearing comments from customers and is working on decreasing the CPU usage on Mac, which is higher than CPU usage by Flash on Windows. He also said that Adobe is one of the biggest software maker for Mac and is in constant talk with Apple to improve Flash and other product experiences, and Adobe is also working to bring Flash to devices like iPhone. While talking about Flash on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets (video below), Kevin showed Wired magazine running on prototype tablet and Flash games on Google Nexus One and iPod touch. He further added that Adobe is working with 19 of the 20 biggest phone maker (Apple not included) to bring full Flash support to mobile device. Neither Apple nor Adobe is ready to comment on if and when Flash support will come to iPhone or iPad, but Adobe is hopeful that use of Flash in over 85 percent websites will force Apple.
