Canon today introduced ten new PowerShot cameras starting with PowerShot SX1 IS with 20X optical zoom. It is the first PowerShot camera to feature 10.0-megapixel CMOS sensor and support Full HD 1920 x 1080 video recording at 30fps. The camera has a large 2.8-inch vari-angle LCD screen for flexible viewing angles. SX1 comes with 28mm wide-angle lens, Digic 4 processor, HDMI output, optical image stabilizer, motion detection, face recognition and ISO up to 3200. No information about pricing is yet available, but we think it should be in range of $399 to $499. ![]() The second higher-end camera added to PowerShot lineup is SX200IS. The camera features 12.1 megapixel sensor, 12X optical zoom, Digic 4 image processor, optical image stabilizer, 28mm wide-angle lens, motion detection, face detection, blink detection and Smart Auto function that intelligently selects the proper settings for the camera based on 18 predefined shooting situation. SX200IS can record video at 720p and has a 3-inch high resolution LCD screen. It will be priced $349.99. ![]() The next on the list PowerShot D10 is Canon’s first waterproof, freezeproof and shockproof camera. The D10 is waterproof up to 10 meters, can withstand shock of a drop onto hard surface from 1.22 meters and can work in temperature range of 14 to 104 degree Fahrenheit. It will also have 12.1-megapixel sensor, 3X optical zoom, Digic 4 processor, optical image stabilizer, Smart Auto, Motion Detection, Face Detection and ISO up to 3200. PowerShot D10 will be priced $329.99. ![]() Canon has added four new cameras to its PowerShot Digital ELPH series. The first camera in the Digital ELPH series is PowerShot SD970 IS. It comes with 12.1-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom, Digic 4 image processor, the regular set of detection technologies and 720p video capture mode. The camera features a new Active display technology for quickly switching between images during playback with a shack of the camera. The SD970 IS will be available for $379.99. ![]() The second camera in the ELPH series is PowerShot SD960 IS that features 12.1-megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom, Digic 4 processor, all the detection technologies and 28mm wide-angle lens. Like the SD970, this camera is also capable of shooting 720p video and it comes with HDMI output for easy playback. The SD960 IS will be available in four colors blue, silver, pink and gold for $329.99. ![]() The third camera in ELPH series is PowerShot SD780 IS, it features the same 12.1-megapixel sensor and Digic 4 processor, but has 3x optical zoom and smaller 2.5-inch LCD. The SD780 IS comes with similar features as the higher priced SD960 but it is designed to be ultra slim and ultra hip. It comes in four colors red, black, silver and gold for $279. ![]() The last camera in Digital ELPH series is PowerShot SD1200 IS. This slim and compact camera comes with 10.0-megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom, Digic 4 image processor and 2.5-inch LCD screen. The camera loses the HD video capabilities found on higher end SD-series cameras, but keep all the other features. It will be available in six colors dark gray, blue, pink, green, light gray and orange for $229.99. ![]() The last three cameras in the list are part of Canon’s PowerShot A-series. The new top of the line A-series camera is A2100 IS and it comes with 12.1-megapixel sensor, 6x optical zoom, Digic 4 processor, optical image stabilizer, Smart Auto, Motion detection, Face select and track, 3-inch LCD screen and ISO up to 3200. The A-series uses two AA-size batteries for power. Canon PowerShot A2100 IS will be available for $249.99 ![]() The second A-series camera shares all the same features as top of the line A2100 IS but it comes with just 4x optical zoom and 2.5-inch LCD screen. The A1100 IS will ship in four colors gray, blue, pink and green for $199.99. ![]() The last camera that Canon announced today is PowerShot A480. It comes with 10-megapixel sensor, 3.3x optical zoom, Digic 3 processor, motion detection, face detection, 2.5-inch LCD screen and ISO up to 1600. It will be available in four colors red, blue, silver and black for $129.99.
