Sprint’s director of consumer acquisition David Owens and Palm’s product line manager Matt Crowley detailed various wireless plans for upcoming Palm Pre handset in a webcast. The Pre will be offered with either Everything Data or Simply Everything packages for individual/family customers, whereas the Business customers will be able to pool minutes, similar to current business options on Sprint’s network.

In individual plans customers can either select 450 or 900 minutes along with Everything Data plan that will provide them with unlimited data and messaging plan. Individual can also select Simply Everything option (an all-inclusive package) that will provide unlimited data, calling and messaging. In Family plans customers will have option of 1,500 or 3,000 minutes with Everything Data plan, or here also customers can select Simply Everything all-inclusive package.

Sprint confirmed that Palm Pre would require data plans, as 3G data is critical to the Palm webOS user experience. Palm’s Matt Crowley also informed that there would be limit on the number of cards (multiple applications opened) that can be loaded at one time, based on internal memory usage of the system. Both the companies said that Palm Pre is on track for a Q2 2009 release.
