Nintendo and its partnering game developers have already started working on software development for next generation Nintendo DS2 (not official name). The next gen DS will feature iPhone like screen that will be bigger and offer higher resolution than even DSi XL. Nintendo will maintain current dual-display format in DS2 and bring eBook functionality to the device. The DS2 will also feature integrated accelerometer like the iPhone that will offer additional functionality in games. Developers say dev kit for DS2 is as powerful as that of GameCube and should bring gaming experience like GameCube and Wii to DS market. It is rumored that Nintendo will use NVIDIA Tegra chipset in next gen DS to bring it on par with iPhone in performance. Nintendo plans to announce DS2 at E3 2010 and ship it by end of 2010 or early 2011.
