Android was the second most talked about mobile platform after iPhone when it was launched in summer of 2008. However, there is still only one Android based device T-Mobile G1 by HTC on market today. But that will change soon, as companies like Samsung, Sony and now Acer have promised that they will launch Android based device in second half of 2009. An Acer executive has told The Business Mirror that the company will launch four new smartphones by end of 2009. Out of these four handsets one will be based on Google Android platform and it will be called A1. The device will feature a touchscreen display and will be released in September 2009. The executive provided no other details about Acer A1, but we can safely bet that the phone will support 3G network and it will come with normal complement of features like Bluetooth, microSD card slot and camera.
