Acer Introduces AspireRevo, EZ1600, 11.6-inch Aspire One and Aspire Timeline SeriesSubmitted by lalit on April 8, 2009 - 1:48pm.
At yesterday’s Acer event the company introduced many new computers that they plan to ship in 2009. The first system in the lineup was Acer AspireRevo – a nettop that was codenamed Acer Hornet. This NVIDIA Ion platform based nettop comes with 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, up to 4GB DDR2 RAM, up to 250GB hard drive, WiFi b/g/n, Ethernet, HDMI, VGA, six USB ports and 4-in-1 card reader. The nettop measures just 7.1” x 7.1” x 1.2” and will ship in Q2 2009. No official word on price yet. Acer also unveiled two new all-in-one desktops, the first desktop EZ1600 will come under eMachines brand. The EZ1600 will feature a 18.5-inch 16:9 LCD screen, Intel Atom 270 processor, up to 4GB DDR2 memory, 160GB hard drive, DVD burner, WiFi and multi card reader. The second system will come under Acer Aspire brand and will be called Z5600. It will come with 24-inch multitouch screen, latest Intel Core processors, up to 2TB storage, up to 8GB RAM, TV tuner, webcam, DVD burner (optional Blu-ray) and WiFi. Acer released no information about release date or pricing for both the systems. Along with desktops and nettop, Acer also announced new 11.6-Inch Acer Aspire One netbook and Acer Aspire Timeline notebook series. The new Aspire One will join the premium netbook segment with 720p capable LED backlit display, Intel Atom processor, 160GB hard drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, built-in 3G support, Dolby Pro Logic Sound and a multicard reader. The netbook will come with 6-cell 5200mAH battery for 8 hours battery life. The ultraportable Timeline notebook series will be based on Intel’s ULV (ultra low voltage) processors and come in 13.3-inch, 14.1-inch or 15.6-inch screen sizes. Like the Aspire One these notebooks will also boost 8 hours battery life and they will be 0.94-inch to 1.14-inch thick. No word on exact specification yet, but you can expect DDR3 RAM, LED backlit screen, WiFi, Bluetooth and optional 3G / WiMAX support. The 13.3-inch model will weigh 3.5 pounds whereas the 15.6-inch model will weigh 5.3 pounds. The price range should be between $700 and $900 and they should come to market in second half of 2009.
