HTC introduced the new HTC Sensation smartphone featuring the latest HTC Sense UI. The handset is based on aluminum unibody construction and 4.3-inch contoured touchscreen. It is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and Android 2.3.

The new HTC Sense UI brings many new features and enhancements including customizable active lockscreen experience that transforms the lockscreen into a real-time window to the most important information and content, such as social updates, photos, weather or stock updates that are viewed by simply turning on the display. The new active lockscreen also becomes a customizable gateway that lets people quickly jump to the most used features, like making a phone call, sending an email, taking a picture or anything else with the same quick gesture usually used to unlock the phone.

Other features of the new handset include 8-megapixel camera, 1080p video recording, 768MB RAM, 960 x 540 resolution screen, 1GB onboard storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and microSD card slot. The HTC Sensation will ship in Europe and Asia in Q2 2011. No word on when it will come to US yet. The video below shows HTC Sensation launch event highlights.
