Nokia’s Plans for 2012-2013

Eldar Murtazin has posted on Mobile-Review forum a short outlook of what we will see from Nokia in near future. According to Eldar Nokia will release the following devices in 2012-2013:

  • Low end devices S30/S40 Lite/S40 - 100 Euro or around (some devices up to 200 Euro)
  • Mid tier S60 5th edition 100-250 Euro - mass market
  • Mid to high - Symbian^3 -5-7 device to come in 2012
  • maemo6 - dead horse - 92000 units - last device for fans. No future developments.
  • High tier - WP7 devices.
  • Tablets - one tablet for 2012 (they will postponed it to 2013 as I think) - most tablets will go with Win8 2012

This shows that Nokia will not only side with Microsoft OS for their smartphone plans, but will also use Windows OS on their upcoming tablets, as was rumored. However, to use Windows 8 Nokia will have to wait for another 16-18 months, which might prove to be very late in today’s fast moving technology market.
