The Windows Blog has posted that “if the telemetry we receive from the Windows 7 RC meets our expectations in terms of quality, then we expect to hit RTM in 3 months or so.” This means that hardware manufactures will get the final version of Windows 7 by August or September, and customers should see computers based on Windows 7 in the market soon after that.

“Microsoft is committed to ensuring that IT professionals and developers continue to have the platform and technologies to drive maximum value and business results. Getting the most out of IT investments is even more important in today’s economy,” said Microsoft’s Bill Veghte at TechEd North America 2009. “With early RC testing and extensive partner feedback we’ve received, Windows 7 is tracking well for holiday availability.”

Microsoft says that their top priority is quality of the software and not how soon they can launch the new OS. In short, Microsoft wants to make sure that they don’t repeat the Vista debacle again with Windows 7 launch.
