Acer to Launch First Chrome OS Based Devices at Computex ShowSubmitted by lalit on May 13, 2010 - 9:58pm.
Venture Beat is reporting that Acer will launch Chrome OS devices at the computex Taipei show in June. Google introduced the Chrome OS last year for netbooks based on ARM CPU and announced that devices based on Chrome OS would ship in second half of 2010. Chrome OS is basically a browser framework running on Linux that is designed specifically for web surfing and online content viewing. There is no information yet available on what kind of Chrome OS devices Acer will showcase at Computex, but it’s safe to bet that at least one of them will be a netbook. Other companies like Samsung and Asus are also developing products based on Chrome OS, which should also be announced later this year.
