Buffalo has introduced a new 256GB solid state drive SSD-N256S/MC400 that features the new 6Gbps SATA connection. The drive is made with MLC (Multi-level cell) NAND Flash and is capable of reaching 400MB/s read speed and 223MB/s write speed. Buffalo was able to achieve such high data transfer rates by combining the 6Gbps SATA interface with new drive controller. The SSD-N256S/MC400 solid state drive from Buffalo will be available in Japan starting next week priced 72,200 Yen ($890). No word yet on when this drive will come to US or other parts of the world.
