Intel’s New Core i7 Processors Available for Pre-Order on Retail Sites

Retail websites like Provantage and PCs For Everyone have started taking pre-orders for Intel’s new Core i7 Processors. The websites have listed two quad-core Core i7 processors, which will target the higher end desktop market.

The first processor listed is Core i7 Extreme 975, which will replace Core i7 Extreme 965 (3.2GHz). The new processor runs at 3.33GHz, with 8MB of L3 cache. It is priced between $1,100 and $1,200.  The second processor Core i7 950 will replace the 2.93GHz Core i7 940. It will run at 3.06GHz and include 8MB of L3 cache. PCs For Everyone is taking pre-orders for Core i7 950 priced at $649.

According to retail websites, both processors will start shipping on May 31. No information is available for upcoming Core i7 930 processor, which will replace the 2.66GHz Core i7 920. However, we will find out more next week when Intel officially launches the new Core i7 processor lineup.
