Microsoft announced sales of Xbox 360 consoles have passed the 30 million mark. Microsoft also said Xbox live community has grown to over 20 million users across 26 countries. In US consumers have spend more than $14.5 billion on Xbox 360 and related products since its launch. Close to 1 billion pieces of gaming and entertainment content has also been downloaded from Xbox Live marketplace to date.

Microsoft claims Xbox 360 had highest percentage growth in hardware sales of any console so far in 2009. We don’t know what Microsoft means by highest percentage growth because Xbox sales are nowhere near Wii sales. Wii was released one year after Xbox 360, but it has already crossed 50 million sales mark earlier this year. The sales ratio between Wii and Xbox 360 is 3:1, which is actually very bad. Xbox 360 is distinct second in the three-way console race, it is doing better than PS3 but nowhere as good as Wii.
