Samsung  today announced the launch of Samsung Galaxy S (Model: GT-I9000) the Android based handset, which they introduced in March this year. The handset comes with 4-inch Super AMOLED (800 x 480) touchscreen, 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, 720p video recording, 8/16GB onboard memory, tri-band HSPA, quad-band GSM/EDGE, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS and microSD card slot.

On the software side the handset comes loaded with usual Google applications along with RSS reader, mobile widgets and integrated social networking hub. Camera on the phone supports auto focus, self shot, action shot, stop motion, cartoon shot, smile shot and Panorama shot. The phone measures 2.52” x 4.81” x 0.38” and weighs 4.19 ounces. Samsung Galaxy S is available across Europe at launch, the Galaxy S will roll out to the rest of the world including the US later this year.
