Following the announcement of dual-touchscreen Libretto W100, Toshiba also introduced 13-inch Portégé R700 laptop and 10-inch Tegra 2 based AC100 netbook/smartbook. Toshiba claims that R700 is the thinnest and lightest full-function laptop in Europe and it marks the company’s 25th anniversary of laptop manufacturing. Toshiba also announced the Satellite R630, offering the same design as R700.

Both the laptop will offer Intel Core i7, Core i5 or Core i3 processors with 13.3-inch non-reflective LED backlit display. They will come with up to 4GB DDR3 RAM, 320GB hard drive or optional 128GB SSD, DVD burner, WiFi, Bluetooth, three USB ports, multi-card reader, VGA HDMI and webcam. The laptops will weigh 2.86 pounds and measure 12.44” x 8.93” x 0.66-1.01”. The new Toshiba Portégé R700 will be available from July and the Satellite R630 will be available from August 2010. Now word on price yet.

The Tegra 250 based Toshiba AC100 runs on Android OS and Toshiba is calling it MID (Mobile Internet Device), even though it looks like regular netbook/smartbook and not like more common tablet-type MID available on the market today. AC100 is also bigger than most MIDs, as it has 10.1-inch and full keyboard compared to up to 7-inch touchscreen found on regular MIDs. Toshiba AC100 uses 1GHz Tegra chip with 512MB RAM, 8GB storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, Optional 3G support, GPS, USB port, HDMI, SD card slot and 1.3 megapixel webcam. Toshiba says that the 1.9 pounds AC100 will support 1080p video out over HDMI and will be 0.55-inch at its thinnest point. The Toshiba AC100 will be available from August 2010 and no word on price yet.
