Rumor: iPhone Coming to T-Mobile this FallSubmitted by lalit on July 21, 2010 - 9:18pm.
Cult of Mac is reporting that T-mobile USA is very close to getting iPhone this fall before Verizon. The website wrote: T-Mobile USA is very close to getting the iPhone in the fall, ending Apple’s exclusive relationship with AT&T, according to a highly placed source at the wireless company. Bringing iPhone to T-Mobile will be easier for Apple than bring it to Verizon, as T-Mobile uses GSM networks. T-Mobile’s GSM/EDGE network will work with the iPhone, but UMTS/HSPA might be a problem as iPhone support 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz, while T-Mobile uses 1700, 2100MHz for 3G service. However, it has been rumored that iPhone 4 is using a chip that support five frequencies including 1700MHz for 3G network, which is not listed on Apple’s website. It will be interesting to see which network gets the iPhone first. As T-Mobile iPhone will be easier to make, whereas Verizon will increase the potential iPhone market by three times.
