Intel’s Notebook CPU Roadmap Shows Quad Core Processors Coming in Q4 2009Submitted by lalit on July 24, 2009 - 3:52pm.
Intel is all set to launch the new Calpella notebook platform in October. The first processors to join the Calpella family will be three Clarksfield quad core processors – including 2GHz Core i7-920XM, 1.73GHz Core i7-820QM and 1.6GHz Core i7-720QM, the processors will be priced $1,054, $546 and $364 respectively in quantity of thousand. In early 2010, Intel will add 32nm Arrandale CPU family to Calpella platform. In first quarter of 2010 Intel will announce six notebook processors based on Arrandale including three dual core CPU, two ultra low voltage (ULV) processors and two low voltage processors. The dual core processors will have 2.66GHz, 2.53GHz and 2.4GHz clock speeds with price tag of $332, $257 and $225 respectively. The ultra low voltage processers will come with 1.2GHz and 1.06GHz speeds for $305 and $278 respectively. While the low voltage processors will clock 2GHz and 2.13GHz for $300 and $332 respectively. Intel will add more processors to the Calpella lineup in second quarter of 2010.
