Acer today announced that their upcoming smartphone Stream would start shipping in UK on August 9th. The 11.2 mm thin phone comes with 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, 2GB onboard storage, 3G HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and microSD card slot.

Acer says that the Stream is a high-end multimedia smartphone with features including 5-megapixel camera, 720p video recording, radio with RDS, Dolby Mobile sound technology, UPnP support and HDMI port. The Android 2.1 based Stream comes with new Acer user interface focalized on what is essential to users and able to guarantee a simple and quick access to all the applications.

The Acer Stream will be available as of the 9th August exclusively in UK from online retailer eXpansys for £399 ($617) Inc Vat.
