Apple updated MacBook Pro 13-inch models by adding built-in battery with up to 40 percent longer battery life (up to 7 hours), LED backlit display with greater color intensity, illuminated keyboard, SD card slot and FireWire 800 port. Apple also reduced the starting price of the notebook to $1,199 making them more affordable while adding new features.

Two MacBook Pro 13-inch models are available: one with 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB DDR3 RAM and 160GB hard drive for $1,199 and another with 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB DDR3 RAM and 250GB hard drive for $1,499. Both the models will come standard with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics, 8X SuperDrive, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet port, two USB ports, one FireWire 800, SD card slot, illuminated keyboard and glass Multi-Touch trackpad.

The new MacBook offers best in class battery life and a brilliant LED backlit LCD display. The aluminum unibody design not only makes the notebook sturdy but beautiful and sleek also. Computer World’s Ken Mingis puts it the best “Overall, Apple has taken what was already a highly successful, feature-rich laptop, given it a new name, upgraded the hardware, added a better screen and a new SD card slot – and dropped prices across the line. The June upgrades should make it more attractive still.”
