Information About Intel’s 32nm Core-i9 Gulftown CPU LeakedSubmitted by lalit on August 3, 2009 - 11:21am.
XtremeSystems’ forum member JCornell has posted information about upcoming 32nm Core-i9 processor codenamed Gulftown that will features six cores. It is believed that the CPU reading above are from engineering sample of Gulftown processor running at 2.4GHz speed with six cores, 12 threads, 1.5MB of total L2 cache and 12MB of L3 cache. The Windows Task Manager on the Vista machine shows 24 threads, as it is likely that the test system might be running on two Gulftown processors. Intel will use three dual-core dies in a single chip package to make the Gulftown CPU. The Core–i9 will be Intel’s top of the line desktop processor superseding present Core-i7 processors. Intel will launch the new processor in Q1 2010.
