Toshiba today introduced world’s first 64GB SDXC memory card that will ship in Spring 2010. The card has 60MB read speed and 35MB write speed. It is designed to be used in high-resolution digital cameras and HD camcorders. Along with 64GB SDXC card, Toshiba will also ship 32GB and 16GB SDHC cards that will have same read and write speeds as the 64GB card. Toshiba claims that the two SDHC cards have world’s fastest data transfer rate. All three cards are compliant with the SD Memory Card Standard Version 3.00, UHS104, which brings a new level of ultra-fast read and write speeds to NAND flash memory cards. Toshiba will start sampling the new SDXC cards in November and the new SDHC cards in December.
