Nikon Unveils World’s First Camera With Projector And Three New Compact Cameras

Nikon has unveiled world’s first compact digital camera Coolpix S1000pj with built-in VGA resolution projector. Along with Coolpix S1000pj, Nikon also announced three new S-series compact camera S70, S640 and S570.

The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj can project a 40 inches diagonal image at up to 2 meters distance. It comes with a remote control to make viewing slideshows easy. The other features on the camera are 12.1-megapixel camera, 2.7-inch LCD screen, 5x optical zoom, ISO sensitivity up to 6400, image stabilization, 16 scene modes and four movie modes. The camera will be available for Euro 429 ($615).

The Coolpix S70 comes with 3.5-inch touch sensitive OLED screen that supports multi-touch inputs. The 12.1-megapixel camera features wide-angle 5x optical zoom and HD video recording. The camera has new Touch Shutter feature that allows you to focus and take a picture simply by touching the relevant area on the screen. The S70 will be available for Euro 379 ($545).

Nikon claims that the next camera in the lineup Coolpix S640 is the fastest camera in Coolpix range. It has the fastest startup time in the compact camera industry and it offers autofocus as fast as most D-SLRs. The S640 comes with 12-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom and 2.7-inch LCD screen. The S640 will be priced Euro 269 ($385).

The last camera Nikon announced is aimed at fashion conscious customers. The camera features an automatic mode that selects an appropriate mode to use based on distance, brightness and the positions of faces within your shot. Other features on the camera are similar to Coolpix S640, however it will be priced less at Euro 209 ($300). All the cameras should ship by end of September.
