Pentax Adds Three New Compact Cameras To Optio Series

Pentax today released three new Optio series cameras – waterproof WS80, ultra-compact P80 and budget E80. The Optio WS80 waterproof compact digital camera is certified to depths of up to 1.5 meters for two hours. It features 10-megapixel sensor, 2.7-inch LCD screen, interval shooting, HD video recording (720p) and digital panorama mode. The 5x 35-175mm zoom lens of the camera comes with SP (Super Protect) coating, which makes it waterproof and dustproof.

The second camera Optio P8 ultra-compact camera comes with 12-megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom and 2.7-inch LCD screen. Other features on the camera include automatic Face Recognition AF & AE function, 720p movie recording, triple anti-shake protection, auto picture mode, D-Range setting and Image recovery function to recover accidentally erased images.

The last camera that Pentax announced today was Optio E80 that comes with 10-megapixel sensor, 2.7-inch LCD, 3X optical zoom and HD video recording (720p). The camera features Green mode for easy shooting for beginners, Digital SR (shake reduction) mode, automatic face recognition and three-point autofocus.

No word yet on shipping dates or pricing for the cameras.
