Next Generation iMac To Offer Two Compelling New Features

AppleInsider is reporting that next generation iMac will have two new features to increase its value proposition. Kasper Jade wrote:

“One of those features is said to have long been on the wish-lists of many Mac users while the other is expected to cater to the semi-professional audio/video crowd. This is according to cryptic tips from people often familiar with the Mac maker’s future product initiatives, but who declined to elaborate because they were not authorized to discuss the matter in detail.”

The website speculates that the first feature will be Blu-ray support on next gen iMac. AppleInsider further adds that Apple is working on an industrial design overhaul for the iMac line, which could bring slimmer, sleeker design similar to 24-inch LED Display, as early as end of this year.

Licensing problems related to Blu-ray technology have eased up in past one year, which should make it easier for Apple to adopt the technology. Hence it is very likely that the first feature will be Blu-ray. As for the second feature, we feel that Apple will add option of antiglare screen for semi-professional crowd. Working on a glossy screen in a well-lit office environment is almost impossible and we hope that Apple would add the antiglare option to every computer in their lineup.
