IBM had previously said that it was planning to start software development for the iPhone. The Company has revealed to MacNN that it is planning to release web-based Lotus Notes for the iPhone by end of 2008. Even though iPhone has Microsoft Exchange support, it lacks several key collaboration features that IBM plans to supplement through the Lotus iNotes.
The Lotus iNotes will bring features like day-at-a-glance calendars, email with attachment sending capabilities, quick contact creation, information on contacts and groups, and reading email with extraneous content hidden or show. These functions are based on IBM’s Lotus Domino Web Access infrastructure and will add rich user experience for iPhone customers. For more information and photos click on the link here.
