According to Apple, starting at $1,199, the new iMac line is the fastest ever with dual-core processor speeds up to 3.6 GHz, quad-core speeds up to 2.93 GHz and discrete graphics including the powerful ATI Radeon HD 5750.

There are four configuration available with 21.5-inch iMac featuring 3.06GHz Core i3, 4GB RAM, 500GB hard drive and 256MB ATI Radeon HD4670 at $1,199, followed by 3.2GHz 21.5-inch model featuring bigger 1TB hard drive and 512MB ATI Radeon HD 5670 graphics at $1,499. The two 27-inch models start at $1,699 with 3.2GHz Core i3, 1TB hard drive and 512MB ATI Radeon HD 5670 graphics. The second 27-inch model comes with quad-core 2.8GHz Core i5 processor, 1TB hard drive and 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5750 graphics for $1,999. The 2.93GHz quad-core Core i7 processor is available as an option on top-of-the-line iMac model.

All reviewers agree that the iMac as always is sleek, fast and offers the best screens available on the market. We completely agree with Ian Osborne’s conclusion “The new 21-inch iMac is an excellent machine that’s ideal for home and office use. It’s wonderfully versatile, runs almost silently and has the best resolution display and fastest processors of any all-in-one computer. Like all Apple gear it doesn’t come cheap, but given the quality it isn’t overpriced.”
