Photokina 2010 is coming close and as always Canon’s pre-show camera launch rumors are flying around. On the DSLR side, Canon will introduce the new EOS 60D that will be smaller than current 50D and replace the magnesium body with a lighter and cheaper plastic body. By using the plastic body Canon aims to keep the price in range of $1,000-$1,200. Canon might also update the 1D Mark IV with a full frame sensor, as well as update the sensor on 5D Mark II.

On the point and shoot side, Both the higher-end cameras G11 and S90 will get an update in form of G12 and S95. The CCD sensor on both the cameras will be replaced by CMOS sensor with higher sensitivity and HD video recording capability. The ultra-zoom SX1 and SX20 will be replaced by SX30 that will feature a lithium-ion battery pack in place of AA batteries, and the SX120 will be updated to SX130. Canon will also announce an unnamed compact camera with 10X optical zoom.

Canon would announce all the above-mentioned cameras at an unconfirmed event on August 26th. And the cameras should ship within a month or two.
