Details and specifications of 4G capable Samsung Epic 4G for Sprint was revealed last month and today Sprint officially announced launch date for the new handset. Sprint will begin shipping the new Epic 4G on August 31 and reservation for the handset will start tomorrow on August 13.

The Andorid 2.1 based Epic 4G come with 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, 512MB RAM, 1GB onboard storage, 5-megapixel camera, 720p video recording, front facing VGA camera, 4G WiMAX, 3G EVDO Rev A., WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and microSD card slot.

Samsung Epic 4G will be available beginning Tuesday, August 31, in all sprint retail channels including Sprint online store and national retail partners, RadioShack, Best Buy and Walmart, with Sprint Stores opening at 8am for the launch. It will be priced $249.99 with a two-year service agreement, after a $100 mail-in rebate. You can reserve Epic 4G on Sprint’s website starting tomorrow.
