HSBC, the multi-national banking giant is considering to deploy 200,000 Apple iPhones across its global workforce. This would be a big blow to RIM, as they are the mobile supplier to HSBC. RIM’s BlackBerry has been the handset of choice for HSBC since 2006.
Brenton Hush, HSBC’s Chief Information Office for Australia and New Zealand said, “We are actually reviewing iPhones from a HSBC Group perspective … and when I say that, I mean globally.”
HSBC has around 300,000 employees internationally and if one of the biggest multi-national banks adopts iPhone as their standardize mobile platform that will give a big boost to Apple’s enterprise ambition.
