John Carmack of id Software showed their upcoming video game Rage running on the iPhone 4 at Quakecon in Dallas Texas. The demo running on iPhone 4 was able to achieve framerate of 60 frames-per-second replete with MegaTextures. Carmack announced that Rage for iPhone will be released this year and will be priced in keeping with the iPhone App Store model. He also added that a second Rage iPhone game would be released next year alongside the release of Rage for PC/consoles. When asked about Rage for Android devices Carmack said that currently id Software has no such plans, but they will reevaluate the market in about six months.
