Review Roundup: Samsung Epic 4GSubmitted by lalit on August 16, 2010 - 9:20am.
Sprint introduced the new Samsung Epic 4G featuring 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen and slide-out QWERTY keypad last week. The Andorid 2.1 based Epic 4G come with 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, 512MB RAM, 1GB onboard storage, 5-megapixel camera, 720p video recording, front facing VGA camera, 4G WiMAX, 3G EVDO Rev A., WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and microSD card slot (16GB card included). Epic 4G will ship on August 31, priced $249.99 with two-year service agreement and after $100 mail-in rebate. Reviews of the new handset have been largely positive with most reviewers calling it the best Android handset on Sprint. One criticism that every reviewer had about the handset was Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. We completely agree with SlashGear’s review conclusion “Tastes differ, but we feel pretty confident in calling the Samsung Epic 4G the best smartphone on the Sprint network today. That success is primarily the sum of the brilliant Super AMOLED display, excellent keyboard and speedy WiMAX connectivity. The compromise is TouchWiz, and we wish Samsung would concede that not everyone appreciates its skin and offer a way to return to the native Android UI. If you can live with it, you’ll have a highly capable, flexible and media-rich handset, albeit one slightly on the back foot when it comes to the latest build of Google’s OS.” Below we have added the five best Samsung Epic 4G reviews available online:
