Intego blog has posted report about an interesting feature in Snow Leopard, the upcoming OS that will be released on Friday August 28th comes with anti-malware feature. The website has posted a image showing the alert message generated by Mac OS X when a file infected with RSPlug Trojan is downloaded via Safari. The message warns:

“install.pkg” will damage your computer. You should move it to Trash.

The message provides details about the malware like when it was downloaded, using what application and name of the malware. Then it gives option of opening it, cancelling the process or ejecting the disk image. The Register notes that the security check works only on files downloaded through some common applications, but not on files copied over from removable media. Details about malware feature are scarce, we will find out more when Snow Leopard is released on Friday.
