Toshiba unveiled the first LCD HDTV with true upscaling at IFA. The new ZF series LCDs use Cell processor based Resolution+ technology developed by Toshiba that upscales SD sources to HD quality video.  The new technology also helps in sharpening details, smoothing edges and enhancing over all image quality. Initially Toshiba will launch two models using Resolution+ technology 40-inch 40ZF575D and 46-inch 46ZF575D. Both the LCDs will offer full 1080p video, 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 6ms response time and 100Mz 5:5 pulldown image processing. The TVs will have four HDMI ports, Component video, RGB and PC input. Toshiba plans to ship the new ZF-series in fourth quarter, but they have yet not announced the pricing.
