Motorola Launches First Android Based Handset CLIQSubmitted by lalit on September 12, 2009 - 5:38pm.
This week Motorola launched their first Google Android based handset CLIQ. The company calls the new handset “the first phone with social skills” to highlight its social networking live widgets that integrate Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, MySpace, Yahoo, Last.fm and more on the home screen. The new widget interface is called MOTOBLUR and it gives the user control over various interface features. Motorola will ship the phone in two colors Winter White and Titanium in time for holiday season. The CLIQ will feature 3.1-inch 320 x 480 touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with video support, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and microSD card slot. Motorola CLIQ will be available in US on T-Mobile network in fourth quarter of 2009. Internationally, the phone will be known as DEXT and it will be available on Orange, Telefonica and America Movil. BGR is reporting that units of CLIQ will be shipping out to T-Mobile corporate stores, warehouses/fulfillment centers on or around September 29th, which means that T-Mobile should officially launch the phone in mid-October. The website believes Motorola CLIQ will be priced $199 with 2 year agreement. We have added first look video of CLIQ from CNET below.
