JVC today started shipping their new HD Camcorder Everio GZ-HM400, which features 1/2.33-inch 10.3-megapixel CMOS sensor with Bayer Array RGB Color Filter. The Camcorder has 32GB internal memory, nine-megapixel still image capability and 1080p video recording. The camera can do high-speed recording of up to 600fps for slow motion playback of sports and other fast action.

The GZ-HM400 uses KONICA MINOLTA HD LENS that provides a high-resolution image source. The image processing is handled by HD Gigabird Premium II Engine with 24Mbps recording capability in AVCHD format. The camcorder has JVC developed optical image stabilizer that uses two active prisms to correct camera shake at the lens entrance before the image enters the lens.

Other features on the camcorder include face detection, one touch upload to YouTube, Continuous still mode, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and iTunes support. Though the suggested retail price is $999.95, the JVC HD Everio GZ-HM400 is available on Amazon for $899 with free shipping.
