In a research note issued today by Citigroup’s Richard Gardner, he said that based on his field checks the shipments of new MacBooks have begun; he says the most distinctive features of the new MacBooks are “very thin aluminum casing, an LED-backlit display and an aggressive entry-level price point.”
In the note he also said that the estimated revenue for September quarter for Apple would be 8.3 billion as a result of robust iPod and Mac shipments. He also estimated that iPhone shipments are running at 1.5x - 2x above consensus. It has been rumored that Apple will launch the completely redesigned MacBooks very soon and this further confirms those rumors. We will surely see the new MacBook before the mid of October 2008.
