Nikon Introduces 16.2-Megapixel D7000 DSLR with 39-Point Autofocus and HD RecordingSubmitted by lalit on September 15, 2010 - 1:17pm.
Nikon today launched successor to their highly successful D90, the new D7000 digital SLR featuring new enhancements and updated Nikon technologies, which results in stunning photos and amazing full HD video recording. The D7000 features a new 16.2 megapixel CMOS sensor with low-light ability never before seen in a DX-format (APS-C) camera. The camera uses new EXPEED 2 image processing engine that offers 39-point AF system and new 2,016 pixel RGB 3D Matrix metering system, along with 1080p video recording at 24fps, and 720p at 24 or 30 fps. The D7000 has speedy 50-millisecond shutter response with rapid 5 fps continuous shooting mode for up to 100 images. In video mode the camera can track up to 35 human faces with continuous autofocus. Nikon D7000 has exceptional low-light shooting capabilities as the camera renders a pixel size of 4.78 µm, which allows more light to be gathered, resulting in a correctly exposed image that has less noise and finer grain. The camera has ISO range of 100-6400 that can be expanded to a Hi-2 setting of 25,600. The optical viewfinder has approximately 100% frame coverage and approximately 0.94x magnification. The 3-inch LCD 921,000-dot super density LCD offers 170-degree viewing angle and the camera has twin SD card slots with support for SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards. The D7000 D?SLR camera will be available beginning mid?October 2010 priced $1199.95 for body only and $1499.95 for body and lens outfit that includes the AF?S DX Zoom NIKKOR 18?105mm f/3.5?5.6G ED VR lens.
