HP today updated its TouchSmart all-in-one desktop line-up by adding IQ800, a 25.5-inch model with Blu-ray drive option. The 26-inch touchscreen has 1920 x 1200 resolution for true HD pleasure and the desktop comes with 1080p capable ATSC/NTSC TV tuners. The new desktop comes with ambient light sensor that illuminates the wireless keyboard and adjusts screen brightness based on surroundings.
HP has launched two models for the IQ800 series. The first model IQ804 comes with 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, DVD burner and GeForce 9300M GS graphics card. The second model IQ816 comes with 2.1GHz Penryn based Core 2 Duo processor, Blu-ray combo drive, 750GB hard drive and GeForce 9600M GS video card. Both the models will support WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth is optional. The starting price for the IQ800 series is $1,899 and the IQ804 will ship on 21st September. The higher end model IQ816 will be priced $2,099 and it will ship on 21st October.
