Along with 5D Mark II, Canon also announced three new prosumer digital cameras. The first camera is top of the line PowerShot G10 that comes with a 14.7-megapixel 1/1.7” CCD sensor and Digic IV image processor. Other features on the camera are 3” LCD screen, 5x wide-angle optical zoom, ISO sensitivity of 80 to 1600, image stabilization, motion detection, face recognition and 26 shooting modes. For storage the camera supports SD, SDHC, MMC, MMCplus and HC MMCplus. The camera allows movies to be captured in resolution up to 640 x 480 at 30 frames per second. The G10 like its predecessor provides full manual control with program AE, shutter priority AE and aperture priority AE. The camera measures 4.29” x 3.07” x 1.81” and weighs 12.34 ounces. The PowerShot G10 will ship in October for $499.

The two new ultra zoom digital cameras that canon added to its PowerShot lineup are SX10 IS and SX1 IS. Both the cameras feature 28-560mm 20X zoom lenses, DIGIC IV processors, improved image stabilization and 10-megapixel sensor. The only difference between the two cameras except the LCD screen size (2.5” for SX10 and 2.8” for SX1) is that the SX1 IS features a CMOS sensor. It’s the first camera in PowerShot line-up to use CMOS sensor allowing it to offer 4.0fps continuous shooting and true 1080p movie capture at 30fps. The SX10 IS will ship in October for $399. Shipping date and price for SX1 IS will be announced later.
