Kodak today unveiled a high-end wireless OLED photo frame that has 30,000:1 contrast ratio and 180 degrees viewing angle. The 7.6-inch OLED screen has 800 x 480 resolution and supports video playback. The Music support is also built-in, but Kodak hasn’t provided any details about it.
The photo frame supports WiFi b/g that allows it to access images both locally and over the Internet. The frame can pull images from online sources such as Kodak Gallery, Flickr and FrameChannel. The Kodak frame comes with 2GB of onboard storage, which Kodak claims can store about 10,000 images. It can also pull images via memory card slot or USB devices.
The image quality on the screen is way better than any ordinary photo frame available today. As the OLED screen has higher contrast ratio and larger viewing angle the color accuracy of the frame is also very high. OLED is a premium technology that provides great image quality. But, with great quality comes higher price tag and it will set you back by $999. The wireless frame will be available online in November and should start shipping to retailers at the same time.
