Google released their new Chrome 3 browser last week with improved JavaScript performance and fresh redesign of some of its features. Computerworld has put Chrome’s improved JavaScript performance to test against top five Windows browsers including IE 8, Firefox 3.5, Safari 4.0 and Opera 10. The website ran the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark on Windows XP (SP3) three times for each browser and then averaged the scores.

Computerworld says Chrome rendered JavaScript more than nine times faster than Microsoft’s IE 8, over five times faster than Opera 10, about two-and-a-half times faster than Firefox 3.5 and 30 percent faster than Safari 4.0. This makes Chrome 3.0 the fastest browser on Windows snatching the title away from Apple’s Safari.
