Nintendo Wii Price Drop to $199.99 on September 27Submitted by lalit on September 25, 2009 - 7:47am.
Following the step of Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo also announced that their Wii gaming console would see a $50 price drop on Sunday, September 27th. Nintendo Wii has been top selling console for past three years, but sales have been steadily dropping for past two quarter. Nintendo hopes that the price drop from $249.99 to $199 will inject some momentum in Wii sales this holiday season. It was reported earlier this year that manufacturing of Wii cost around $80, so it’s about time that Nintendo pass on some savings to the customers also. Nintendo will start shipping Wii Fit Plus on October 4th. Nintendo would also launch their first true multiplayer Mario game, New Super Mario Bros Wii, on November 15th. Nintendo will give customers opportunity to try out both these title in new World of Nintendo consumer sampling tour that will start on October 2nd in Long Beach, California, Philadelphia and New York.
