T-Mobile Unveils HTC Amaze 4G and Samsung Galaxy S II

T-Mobile today unveiled two new Android smartphones, the HTC Amaze 4G and Samsung Galaxy S II. According to T-Mobile, the two new handsets are “T-Mobile’s fastest smartphones and the first smartphones to take advantage of T-Mobile’s faster 4G (HSPA+ 42) network technology.” The new smartphones will allow customers to browse the Web faster than on the average home Internet and are showing average download speeds approaching 8 Mbps with peak speeds around 20 Mbps on T-Mobile’s 4G network.

HTC Amaze 4G will be based on Android 2.3.4 and feature dual core 1.5GHz CPU, 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) touchscreen, 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, 1080p video recording, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and microSD card slot.

The Samsung Galaxy S II will be based on Android 2.3.5 and come with dual core 1.5GHz Qualcomm S3 processor, 4.52-inch (800 x 480) Super AMOLED Plus display, 1GB RAM, 16GB on board storage, 8-megapixel back camera, 2-megapixel front camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and microSD card slot.

Both the handsets will ship on October 12th with Amaze 4G priced $259 after $50 mail-in rate and Galaxy S II priced $229.99, with two year contract.
