With Palm Pre’s demand going down the price for the device is crashing. Earlier this month, Sprint dropped price of Pre to $149 to boost sales of the device. However, within just few days of price drop, Amazon started offering additional $50 rebate bring the price down to $99, indicating that even after price drop sales haven’t increased as Sprint had hoped. And now Walmart is offering Pre for just $79 with two-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate.

Three price drops in less than one month points towards heavy decrease in demand for Palm Pre. We seriously feel bad for Sprint customers who bought Palm Pre before September, as the price of the device have gone down more than 60 percent in September alone. In fact, price of Palm Pre is crashing down faster than BlackBerry Storm that saw a 50 percent price drop in first five months. Sprint should do the respectable thing and offer at least $50 back to the customers who paid $199 for the device.
