Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2 Camera with 16-Megapixel Sensor

Panasonic has been leading the way in Micro Four Thirds camera category and last week they announced Lumix DMC-GH2 camera to maintain that lead. Panasonic says that the new camera has world’s fastest autofocus (AF) speed of 0.1 second to capture the subject. The DMC-GH2 features full HD 1920x1080/60i smooth, high quality movie recording with 60fps output and cinema-like 24p movie with the bit rate of max 24 Mbps provides overwhelming image quality with richly expressive afterimage. The camera combines newly developed 16.05-megapixel multiaspect Live MOS sensor with new Venus Engine FHD image processor for exceptional image quality and speed.

Other features of the camera include ISO range of 160-12800, 3-inch free-angle touchscreen LCD, 23 AF areas, continuous focus in movie mode, support for 3D shooting (via new 3D lens) and iA (Intelligent Auto) mode. Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2 with 14-42mm hybrid lens is available on Amazon for pre-order priced $999.95. Panasonic will start shipping the camera in Q4 2010.
