HTC Launches HD2 The First Windows Mobile Phone with Capacitive Multitouch ScreenSubmitted by lalit on October 7, 2009 - 4:46am.
HTC has launched new HD2 handset, the successor of Touch HD smartphone. The HD2 is the first Windows Mobile based phone that features multitouch capable capacitive touchscreen. It also uses HTC Sense user interface found on the Android handsets made by HTC. Hardware specifications of the phone are 4.3-inch screen, 5-megapixel camera, 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, quad band GSM/EDGE, dual band UMTS, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and microSD card slot. On the software side along with the usual WinMo software bundle the phone will also get Peep Twitter client and a new contacts system that keep your communications organized by amassing all of the text messages, email messages, Facebook status updates and phone calls from a specific contact in one location. The HD2 measures 4.7” x 2.6” x 0.4” and weighs 5.5 ounces. Battery life on the phone is 5.3 hours of talk time and 16 days of standby. HTC will ship HD2 later this month in Europe and other parts of the world will get the device later. No word on price yet.
