HP Introduces Two All-in-One Multitouch Desktops, Two ProBook Laptops, Elite Desktop and 42-inch Multitouch Display

HP today introduced series of systems based on upcoming Windows 7. Taking the advantage of multitouch technology present in Windows 7 are two all-in-one desktops TouchSmart 300 and 600. The new desktop adds true multitouch capabilities to the TouchSmart lineup. The desktops not only allows pinch-to-zoom, flicks and other gestures but also have added many new touch app like Hulu, Netflix, Rhapsody music and Twitter feeds update.

The 20-inch TouchSmart 300 comes with 2.7GHz Athlon II dual-core processor, 4GB DDR2 RAM, 500GB hard drive and Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics for starting price of $899. You can optionally select 2.8GHz Athlon II and 640GB hard drive. The 23-inch TouchSmart 600 uses Intel 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 750GB hard drive, TV tuner and NVIDIA GeForce G200 integrated graphics for starting price of $1,049. HP also has a slightly higher-end version of TouchSmart 600 with 2.13GHz Core 2 Duo processor, dedicated GeForce GT 230M graphics and Blu-ray drive. TouchSmart 600 will ship on October 22 and TouchSmart 300 will ship on November 1.

Along with the all-in-one desktop for consumers, HP also announced two ProBook laptop 6445b and 6545b, and Elite 7000 desktop for business customers. Both the laptop will offer a choice of AMD Turion II, Athlon II or Sempron processors, up to 8GB RAM, up to 500GB hard drive, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 graphics, WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, optical drive and optional EVDO/HSPA module. Starting price for both the laptop is $799, the ProBook 6445b has 14-inch display and the ProBook 6545b has 15.6-inch display. HP Elite 7000 Business Desktop PC comes with choice of Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors, up to 8GB DDR3 RAM and up to 1TB hard drive. Various optical drive options and graphics card options are available. The starting price of HP Elite 7000 is $799. All three systems will ship after October 22nd.

HP also introduced largest multitouch display LD4200tm. The 42-inch display is capable of recognizing two finger inputs by using combination of infrared and imaging sensors. Specifications of LD4200tm are 178-degree viewing angles, 72 percent color gamut, 3,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 9ms pixel response. Ports present on the display are USB, HDMI, VGA, component, composite and S-video. The LD4200tm will ship in December for $2,799.
